Naturally this has made me rather despondent as I was looking forward to testing it out with a view to it becoming my go to compact street camera.</p> <p><br/>Two things have sweetened the pill, however. The first is that Simon Chesterman of <a href="http://www.collectablecameras.com/">Collectable Cameras</a> (who sold me the Pen f) is covering the costs of any repairs that need to be done. This demonstrates the benefits of buying an old camera at a reputable dealer. My Pen showed no signs of having trouble until there was film in it under &#8216;real world&#8217; conditions and I don&#8217;t blame anyone for not picking up the issue. However, if this happens with a good dealer you can be confident that it will get repaired with no further costs. From a private seller on Ebay, well&#8230;not so much*.</p> <p>The second sweetener is that whilst I was drowning my sorrows over a delay in penning, I bought, on a complete whim, a NIMSLO lenticular 3D camera. I have spent the rest of the week realizing that while this might provide me with much needed fun (and perhaps a creative boost), posted content from this camera is largely comprised <a href="http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/nimslo">of &#8216;wobble gifs&#8217; of hipster parties**</a>. It will be a challenge to do something a bit different.</p> <p><br/>Finally, for all Brits (and people with proxies I guess), <a href="http://www.timeout.com/london/tv-reviews/in-no-great-hurry-13-lessons-in-life-with-saul-leiter">there is going to be a Saul Leiter doc on BBC4 on the 2nd of April!</a></p> <p>*This is beside the fact that many won&#8217;t have had any checks and are being sold by people who know nothing (seriously&#8230;just count how many viewfinder PAS cameras are listed as rangefinders on Ebay).</p> <p><br/>**although by no means all.
